Things to Do

Tulum is a beach lovers paradise. Sure, you’ll be tempted to never leave your lounge chair or hammock. Who could blame you? But if you’re ready, there’s an abundant number of things to do in Tulum.  Choosing from ecological tours like a guided tour through the Sian Ka’an Biosphere, diving into one of countless cenotes, exploring ancient ruins, snorkeling along the second largest reef in the world or taking up a new sport like kite-surfing is going to be tough and you’ll find that there’s so little time to fit them all in.  Hopefully you’ve planned a long enough stay in Tulum to experience it all,  but if not, don’t worry—it just gives you another reason to return to this beautiful place!

The Yucatan Peninsula sits atop an underground network of rivers.  Cenotes are caves and tunnels where the limestone surface over this network has opened up, allowing entrance into the fresh, crisp waters.  There are several thousand cenotes scattered throughout the Yucatan, including many in and around Tulum.  For a small fee, guests are invited to spend the day exploring the area—snorkeling, swimming and scuba diving in these natural swimming pools teeming with fish and lined with the natural beauty of the jungle and limestone rocks.
